Hello GFYS4Charity guests and members, Just a quick note to inform everyone that there will be some changes to the site in the coming new year. I hope to get the ball rolling very soon and get some new features going as well as getting an Ebay store set up to auction off items to raise money for our charities. Also, trying to do quarterly charities is a bit stressful and time consuming considering it doesn't allow much time to raise much for each charity as we hope to.. so I am considering the possibility of raising funds for two charities a year instead of four that way we can focus on helping these charities the way they deserve to be helped. I encourage everyone to submit ideas as to what you would like to see here and also ideas as to what would get you to participate more in not only donating but also the community. This quarter GFYS4Charity is proud to be supporting an organization called Turning Point, a place where victims of domestic violence can turn in their hour of need, along with their families. Turning Point has assisted domestic violence victims and their families for over 30 years and since 1986, 6,458 women and 227 men have benefited from our outreach services, over 3,113 men have attended batterers' treatment programs, 2,693 speeches have been presented and 45,286 volunteer hours have been logged.

GFYS originally began as a practical joke using a naughty word. GFYS4Charity emerged as a movement for good. GFYS4Charity’s mission is to identify and assist underserved,local non-profit organizations, focused on services for children or animal welfare, through publicity and fundraising for the organizations. Our hope is that not only will individuals support GFYS4Charity’s chosen causes, but that the movement will encourage individuals to in essence "Go Find Yourself" by supporting and fundraising for charities that you identify with in your own communities.

We only get ONE chance at life. One chance to make it really count. We live in a time where everything needs to be faster, easier, more efficient….or so they say. Our priorities have changed. While cell phones, computers and cars have gotten as small as the bills we carry in our wallets, the time we spend with family, the time we spend on ourselves and the amount of time we spend caring for one another has diminished. We are in such a rush to do everything that the moments that really matter are passing us by. When was the last time you sat down at the table and had a meal with your family, or turned off the television and instead had a family game night? When was the last time you took a moment to do something nice for yourself? Maybe even tried something you have always dreamed of doing? How about, when was the last time you did something nice for a complete stranger?
